At 2,600m above sea level, Semonkong has a harsh climate - even in summer. In summer, the days are mostly warm at an average of 22C, but as soon as the sun sets, cool altitude air settles on the landscape and it's not uncommon for temperatures to drop to around 8C overnight. In a single week during December one can expect frequent thunder showers, hail and then suddenly, brilliant sunshine!
